Many times, God gets the blame for the negative things that happen in our lives. The fact of the matter is that every human being is born into the devil’s territory. The devil is constantly roaming the earth. Job 2:2 NASB, The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” He always is looking for ways to steal, kill, and destroy. John 10:10 NASB, The thief (devil) comes only to steal and kill and destroy; .. This includes his attacks on the souls of people. The soul consists of the mind, will, and emotions.
There are many means he uses to accomplish this purpose. Rejection, abuse, neglect, trauma, assaults, war, manipulation, and control are a few of those means. These things can happen anytime in a person’s life; from conception to death.
Lies always accompany the works of the devil. John 8:44 NASB, You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. These lies twist and warp perceptions of life, ourselves, others, circumstances, and God. Lies set up a pattern of thinking in the mind.
When negative things are done to a person, the human will becomes damaged. Choices made out of the damaged areas, usually lead to sin. We can choose to sin against God, others, or our own selves. Sin always destroys. Romans 6:23 NASB, For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Through negative experiences, beliefs, and choices, emotions are affected. Beautiful emotions such as love, joy, peace, trust, and forgiveness become replaced by negative emotions such as fear, hatred, anger, lust, jealousy, and bitterness toward God and others.
There is hope amidst all this ruin to the soul. This is not God’s heart for us. He has a better plan that trumps every plan and action of the devil. The heavy-duty work has already been done. 1John 3:8 NASB, … The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. Our part is to come into agreement with what has already been done, and cooperate with it. Nothing is too big or too bad for Jesus to take care of. Hebrews 7:25 NASB, Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
This usually is a process. The process actually begins when we personally acknowledge that we have been damaged by “the works of the devil”. Sometimes we tend to ignore this reality in an attempt to live the life we want. There is often a belief that if we try harder, we will do better, and life will get better. This may work for a while. However, eventually the realization comes crashing in that we are not functioning well, and that the life we want to live is not materializing. This is where our ministry is available to help.
Our desire is to walk with the person sincerely seeking healing from life’s wounds. Our role is to provide support and compassion when the hurts are expressed. We provide a safe place for negative emotions to be expressed and sins to be confessed, without any judgement. We help bring clarity to the lies that are believed. Building trust is an honor which we take seriously. Often the wounded soul is not in tune with God’s heart, and does not know how to connect with the only true answer for healing. For this reason, we invite Heaven to come and minister in Their own beautiful, healing, and personal way. Matthew 11:28-30 NASB, “Come unto Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and You will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
It is through this kind of ministry that soul wounds are healed. The many lies are exposed and the mind is released to understand truth. It becomes possible to replace sinful choices for choices agreeing with love for God, ourselves, and others. The beautiful emotions we were created to live out of, are restored. The same God that created us so wonderfully in the beginning, has the wonderful plan of how to put His broken creation back together again.
